Safety Coordination – Design Phase
• Ensure that general prevention principles are applied during the design, study and development phases.
• Prepare and update the Safety, Health and Environment Plan (SHE Plan).
• Identify critical phases requiring on-site presence during execution.
• Open, maintain and transfer the coordination diary and post-intervention file.
• Advise the contracting authority on compliance of tender documents with the SHE Plan.
Safety Coordination – Execution Phase
• Coordinate the implementation of prevention and safety principles during project execution.
• Ensure consistent application of the SHE Plan by contractors.
• Organise cooperation and coordination between contractors on site.
• Control access to the construction site (authorised persons only).
• Update and manage the coordination diary and post-intervention file.
• Record non-compliances and report them to the contracting authority.
• Organise coordination meetings as required by legislation.
• Oversee order, cleanliness, waste management and site circulation.
• Monitor interfaces with operational sites where applicable.
• Provide clear reporting, supported by photo documentation.
Advisory & Support Role
• Act as a subject-matter expert, advising project teams on their legal safety obligations.
• Support the tasks of the internal Prevention Advisor.
• Review safety procedures, emergency measures, work methods and risk analyses.
• Provide input on safety aspects in technical documents, tender documents and purchase orders.
• Participate in meetings, inspections and site walkthroughs as agreed.
• Contribute to annual feedback meetings for reviewing performance and lessons learned.
